<article><hdr>Landing shot of F-101A Voodoo</hdr><body>
<hi style=afpcap>With its brake chute extended a McDonnell F-101A Voodoo of the 81st Tactical Fighter Wing lands at its home base at RAF Woodbridge, England. The F-101A together with the F-101C models were delivered to the 27th TFW at Bergstrom AFB, Texas but were transferred to the 81st TFW at RAF Bentwaters and Woodbridge. These were the only fighter bomber versions of the Voodoo, and were assigned to USAFE until replaced by the F-4C in 1965. The F-101s returned to the USA where they were converted to the reconnaissance role with the designation RF-101G and RF-101H applied. These served with the Air National Guard including a period of mobilisation involving a deployment to Japan.</hi>
